The Mineola Juniors recently had a water rescue training with the Port Washington and Glenwood Landing Junior Fire Departments. The training was hosted by the Port Washington Fire Department. Port Washington has a fire boat plus all the necessary equipment to rescue people and boats in need of help. The first question to all the juniors was if they knew how to swim, which they all did. Then, there was plenty of water time for all the juniors from Mineola, Port Washington and Glenwood Landing.
It was a lot of fun plus an experience that many junior fire departments don’t get. The Mineola Junior Fire Department was thankful to the chiefs and instructors from Port Washington in giving them their time in showing them this important piece of fire rescue.
