Nassau County Police reported that there was a residential burglary last night on Raff Avenue in Mineola.

Mineola village officials said a home was broken into and assorted jewelry and cash were taken between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Residents returned home to find the rear door pried, upstairs bedroom ransacked, and above listed property removed.

The only additional information police have been able to gather from  canvassing from past burglaries is that a neighbor reported seeing a burgundy 2002 to 2005 Ford Explorer with a Hispanic or white male in his 30s, sitting in the car around the time of the burglaries, village officials said.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the county’s CrimeStoppers hotline at 1-800-244-TIPS.
